GLOBIS Expands Business Education to the Philippines

Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo—On November 30, 2023 GLOBIS Corporation established GLOBIS Manila Inc. in the renowned financial district, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig. This move marks GLOBIS’ inaugural presence in the Philippines, solidifying our commitment to deliver a world-class MBA program in the region and equip future business leaders for the Technovate (technology and innovation) era.

The English MBA program at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, launched in 2009, has successfully nurtured almost a thousand graduates from 80 unique countries around the world. Among them, Filipino students constitute the largest non-Japanese cohort, reflecting the strong connection GLOBIS shares with the Philippines.

Starting from April 2024 the Philippines subsidiary will offer aspiring business professionals the opportunity to participate in English Pre-MBA courses from Japan’s largest business school locally. These courses will equip them with essential business skills necessary for success in today’s competitive global landscape.

Bonifacio Global City (BGC), renowned for its strategic location and accessibility in Manila, stands as the heart of the Philippines’ business landscape. The district plays a pivotal role in the nation’s diverse and multicultural business ecosystem, holding substantial sway in the fields of business and economics.

Nica Magnaye, a distinguished graduate of GLOBIS’ English Full-time MBA program, will head GLOBIS Manila Inc. Before returning to the Philippines, she honed her global marketing skills working for major Japanese companies such as the tech conglomerate Rakuten Group Inc. and D2C fashion brand, kay me Ltd. After returning home, she continued her career as the Creative Director of the country’s prominent production company PULP Live World Production Inc. She also acted as the Managing Editor of one of the longest-running publications in the Philippines, the Fookien Times Yearbook Publishing Inc.

Magnaye obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from De La Salle Lipa in the Philippines, and an MBA from GLOBIS University in Japan. With her extensive experience in global marketing for Japanese companies, she brings exceptional leadership and insight to this venture.
